Surely they are the first and most noble cause. They provided for you and help you become the person you are.

Having lost many loved ones, I can't help but resent the arbitrary lines some people draw, at times.

There are situations where choosing the comfort of a loved one also means choosing the death of a stranger.

Should the morality of putting your loved ones first not be defined by the nature of the collateral damage? Someone asked a similar question few days ago.

@Miram Yes it should. These people gave up on the dreams they had for themselves and the role they saw in their own struggles - solely to raise and provide for you.

To do anything else is a heartless betrayal.

@Jaego Are you talking about my parents?
Or as in provide love?

@Miram Your family. But a relationship also brings about compromise that you never anticipated until the time comes.

I have a response to that but it is too complex and personal to be shared here. I appreciate your comments though and I will think about them.
