The most difficult part about being an activist in any cause is having loved ones.

Mine have no idea I go canvassing lol, except my older brother.
BlueVeins · 22-25
@Miram No. He lives a couple hundred miles away, with my parents, and idk the extent to which he really believes in political action.
Miram · 31-35, F
@BlueVeins Even with differences, siblings are a blessing.

I hope you always have each other.

@Miram Honestly, I've sorta been trying to keep him at arm's length. He's a good guy and I'd help him in a heartbeat, but boy is he exhausting to talk to most of the time.

I think the most difficult part is just having anyone hate you lol because sometimes people just don't understand or know what's good for them. Sometimes they do and then not.

I like to think of countries where their laws really hurt people but it's normal, most of those people just don't know because if you're raised a certain way then it's normal.

@SatanBurger I am used to being hated and targeted. I really am. And I push back and use it as motive, get smarter, get tougher..etc

The problem is that some of those who will hate you, will also target your loved ones. And that's why I think having loved ones is the most challenging aspect. Sometimes you are guarenteed the win in one move. You end up making 20 moves to save the queen instead.

Surely they are the first and most noble cause. They provided for you and help you become the person you are.
Miram · 31-35, F
@Jaego Are you talking about my parents?
Or as in provide love?
Jaego · 100+
@Miram Your family. But a relationship also brings about compromise that you never anticipated until the time comes.
Miram · 31-35, F
@Jaego

I have a response to that but it is too complex and personal to be shared here. I appreciate your comments though and I will think about them.
Every family has got someone who thinks they are saving the world, when in fact the reality is they are barely contributing to utility bills.

@JackieDaytona

Perhaps you should start a thread about that particular demographic, since the behavior bothers you so much.
@Miram I’m not bothered by it - I’m taking the piss.
