Why do Brits think falling into canals is deadly? They're 2 to 4 feet deep! Just stand up lol

It'd be like falling into a dirty kiddy pool. If you fall into a canal, just stand up like these two men are doing.

Simples.

Brits, stop being scared of shallow water you can very easily stand up in. You don't even need to know how to swim if you fall in such shallow water.

This is like the Brit version of quicksand I swear to god.

EDIT:

I tried looking on YouTube for "man falls into canal". I found a (skit?) where someone knocks a guy off a bike into a canal (I don't condone this). It's a Short and you can see the guy just stands up in waist deep water at the end.

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout I’ve seen those You Tube magnet fishers guys on the canals bringing up all sorts of metal things from the bottom of the canals…damn how many decades do they go before draining the canals and cleaning them or do they ever do it? So much junk down there including bicycles, metal vehicle parts, weapons etc.

@cherokeepatti I remember years ago cleaning the Mississippi River. At the bottom they found cars, tractors and boats.

@MrBrownstone some people here in the USA will do magnet fishing off of bridges in various states and find guns, car parts, and all kinds of junk that has been dumped into the water, including car engines with oil floating out.
