Am I weird for still wondering if the 2 men who talked me out of doing something stupid 3 years ago are okay?

3 years ago, two strangers (both men) talked me out of doing something stupid. It was near a shop and they told me that they stand around there every day, so if i ever feel down again I can always come talk to them.

I went up that shop a lot, and I never saw either of them again.

My mum said it's weird thing to say, to still wonder if those men are okay. She said some "guardian angels" saved her car when it broke down many years ago but she doesn't still think of them and wondering if they're okay. Because every time I go to that shop, i check the little area they were (it's where I'll walk past anyway), and they're not there. I was talking about them today and got told that.
