My wife is watching this show. The guy just got $44 million seven hundred dollars.

What fun things would you do if someone just gave you $44 million seven hundred dollars? Fun things only please.

Driving to forests and camping in cabins…road trips and stopping at scenic areas and taking photos and a break. Lake of the Ozarks and other lakes or rivers with clear water…Go Browsing through small towns. I’d like to visit some Amish areas and stay awhile. Go somewhere cooler than Oklahoma during the summer. My neighbor went to Michigan in 2011 when we were having a record-setting heat spell and drought. She said it was so comfortable to be outdoors, everything was green, fresh veggies & fruits, especially cherries. There is a place around Lake Michigan that has some interesting rocks, would love to go there. There’s a diamond mine (in a field) in Arkansas that I would love to dig around in. And hunt for fossils in various places.

I like to watch You Tube videos on Peter Santanello’s You Tube channel. He goes to locations and interviews people in random places that are unknown to most of us. I would like to visit some of those areas too. He also goes into the history of the area as well. In my opinion he’s a much better journalist than the ones who work in the media.

@Musicman I like places that aren’t so crowded with tourists. Watched some videos last night of a You Tuber’s experience in Egypt. He wanted to visit the Pyramids and the Valley of the Kings and see all of the ancient archeology and historical places. Probably half of the time in his videos was dealing with men posing as “guides” pestering him, people hawking their souvenirs, corrupt men acting like security trying to tell him he couldn’t use his camera to photograph things (he ended up giving them a little bit of money so they would get off of his butt and they did), taxi drivers who wanted 2 or 3 times the going rate to take him places, etc. It was always something. If he ever spoke to any of them they would hound him for money in some way. At the same time if he saw someone cleaning (picking up trash the tourists dropped) he would give them a tip equal to about a dollar or two since they were out in the sun working and not bothering anyone. He said they deserved it more than the rest. He said every kindness that any of the others showed was an invitation for him to part with his money. I fell asleep in my recliner chair during the first video and started dreaming that I was being harassed for money. Needless to say, no matter how much money I could ever have I won’t be traveling to Egypt.

@cherokeepatti That's terrible! ☹ I honestly believe there are people who stay up nights trying to figure out how to get our money away from us. 😠

@Musicman They think everyone who visits is so rich that they have an endless amount of money. This man (David Akundzada who is from Azerbaijani) is very generous especially to the poor people where he travels to make his videos when he’s not being harassed. He’s bought food for people when he goes to a restaurant and asks them what the best thing is to eat, bought a case of treats from a village store and they walked around and handed them out to children in Yemen, and bought other things for people who were friendly just talking to him asking where he was from etc. and not wanting anything. He would run out of money in less than a day in Egypt if he let all the hawkers and fake guides etc take advantage of him.

@cherokeepatti He sounds like a really good person.

@Musicman We have been watching his videos for a couple of weeks now. He does seem like a really kind man. Some of his videos have gotten 1-2 million views so he’s making some good change to help finance his trips.

@cherokeepatti I would love to have someone sponsoring our trips. I would definitely go more often. 🙂

@Musicman yeah that would be a dream. The ones who are doing are running a channel, they need to know how to edit their videos and also how to maneuver well in places that they travel to, how to engage with people, what to watch out for, and learn a bit of the languages and culture, but it can make them a living. This guy used to work in the corporate world before his YouTube channel took off.

@cherokeepatti I would want to stay in America and Canada. I wouldn't go abroad.

@Musicman You would probably enjoy Peter Santanello’s videos then. Some of them are in other countries but I’ve been watching the ones in America and Canada.
