You know what was interesting?

I recently watched a video essay on how to argue effectively on political issues. The thesis was, when arguing with conservatives, it’s far more effective to bring up things like honor and purity and economics than it is to bring up morals and humanity.

It is true, it’s not wrong. And this is the world we live in. As my favorite union rep on here says “do you want to be right or do you want to win?”

Remember what you’re standing against that you have to do this, but also remember winning is what matters. Not winning on your terms. That entire ideology must be stopped for the good of everyone.

Don’t talk about what would convince you; focus on what would convince them. Worry about a world without that heartless opposition another day.

Today is not the day for that.

@PalteseMalconFunch I understand your arguement entirely, and the ideology behind it, even if you dont seem too. The tactics that you are calling for are rooted in the ideology that you say needs to be eradicated at all costs.
You said that things like honor and purity are more important than morals and humanity?
That is exactly how Hitler got the German people on his side after WWI, through preaching about the honor and pride of Germany and the purity of the Arian race at the cost of morals and humanity.

"do you want to be right or do you want to win?”

I dont think I need to elaborate on how that worked out.

No, what I read was that those beliefs would be an effective argument in winning conservatives over. And that’s pretty much what has been said to win their votes. It fits what they already think.

Yes this is literally what I said.

@bijouxbroussard I’m starting to suspect this person doesn’t want to read it that way and really wants to call me a NAZI. But we’ll see.

@bijouxbroussard thats not even remotely true
krf336 · M
@PalteseMalconFunch which is untrue.. and even if it was, why would you stoop to that level.
@krf336 It’s completely true. Either you misread the post or, as the OP says you wanted to misinterpret what was said. And my opinion about MAGA has been borne out by results. The only way people who believe they support the rule of law would then turn around and elect a convicted criminal is because a platform based upon hatred and xenophobia spoke to them.
