On getting wealthy

When I was a young man, right in the middle of the early 1980’s recession, I had just five cents to my name. I decided to use that five cents to buy an apple. I spent the entire day scrubbing and shining that apple until it looked perfect, and by the end of the day, I sold it for ten cents.

With those ten cents, I bought two apples. Again, I scrubbed and shined them all day, and at the end of the day, I sold them for twenty cents.

I kept this up for a whole week, and I felt like I was finally starting to get somewhere. Then, just as I was scrubbing my twentieth apple, I got the news: my uncle had passed away and left me twenty million dollars.
