Yes, I did away with my Nationalism, and have embraced my Patriotism. 😎
popmol · 22-25, M
@Really i assume the american that want to take away rights? if the american value their rights so much, they should not like the politicians that try to take away rights?
i mean like the abortion thing? i feel like a true american should be fan of it. not as a concept or what the practice is but because its the right of bodily authority!
those politicians who are taking away rights? not american.
those in favour of changing the base rules taking away rights. not american.

by this philosophy.

@Really

Patriotism is in the heart, while nationalism can found on a stage.
Really · 80-89, M
@calicuz For me Nationalism is the illusion that one's country and its citizens are automatically superior to others; its citizens more admirable and deserving of the earth's wealth. It's basically an evil idea.

Patriotism is Nationalism with the hand held pretentiously over the heart.

"The greatest danger to America's future came from self-serving opportunism masquerading as patriotism" - Nathaniel Philbrick referring to US traitor Benedict Arnold in 'Valiant Ambition'.

I have! well..sort of. About my family.
Im a descendant of the people who founded the town I live in. It doesn't matter even a little bit, but I was on wikipedia trying to find something out about this place and discovered family. I had no idea.

@nonsensiclesnail But of course madam, once more do forgive me, ignorance might be a sin but seeing ones flaws must for sure be a virtue!

Since family history is my hobby, I have unlocked a lot of knowledge previously unknown by anybody in my family. Maybe that helps me understand myself a little better.
popmol · 22-25, M
@exexec i hope it does!
