Do you prioritise yourself in life or sacrifice yourself to be there for others ?

It's something I've been thinking about now that I have a mortgage (at age 55) and thinking about how my life could change and how the relationship with my children (my pregnant adult daughter, my adult sons, and my 6 yo daughter) will change with time.

I know realistically I'm on average good for maybe another 25 years so got me thinking about priorities. A guy at work owns four houses and goes on 3 or 4 vacations per year. I haven't really ever had an Actual Holiday (primarily due to not wanting to, but now also because I can't afford to).

What and how do you prioritise your life? Do you do it purely for you, or for others, or a mix?

For reasons of my own, I chose to value my family first. That doesnt mean I didnt work. But the goal and prize has always been about them..And I dont regret a moment of that.. As I said. It has been for reasons of my own, So how can that be a sacrifice??😷
