We are told to self love but if we self love we are narcissistic

People have told me the difference between self care/self love and narcissism is that with narcissism, you think you are also BETTER or ABOVE others. With self love, you empower yourself to have boundaries and respect your whole being, but you don't act more than others, or that you are above them.
