As I've matured, I realize the importance of such matters. If you don't take care of yourself, who will? And, the opposite (self-hatred and self-loathing) is no fun and very damaging. Praticing self-love will prevent self-loathing as well as lessen its effects. Unfortunately, when you get in a rut, the last thing you want to do is care for yourself. Most likely, you'll want to do the complete opposite. In my opinion, it's best to care for yourself on a regular basis. Curing poor behavior is more difficult than preventing it.
