Have you ever unwrapped, then rewrapped a gift that was addressed to you?

🤔 What was it?

Not exactly , but I did give something as a gift that someone else had given me. It was something I liked a lot, that a close friend had given me. It had been in the box in a closet for years, and it was a very pretty ceramic candle burner.
I told the the person I gave it to that it had been a gift from a friend, and how precious it was because he had given it to me. I like to think my deceased friend would understand and be okay with me giving it to someone else, who would use it.

@Piper I’m sorry for your loss! I hope that the person you gave it to treasures that precious gift! It’s so kind of you to pass along something like that, I have a hard time letting go of sentimental things.

@WanderingThrough It was a very nice gift, and my friend knew how much I appreciated that he bought it for me. I have a hard time letting go of things connected to someone I loved, too, as evidenced by home being full of them.
In this case, it was a brand new 'old' working thing, though, that I had never used. Not because I didn't like it, but because I had something similar that I rarely use. It was not an easy decision, for me to part with that gift.

@Piper It’s lovely that you’re so sentimental and that you are able to share things that mean a lot to you with others. I hope that it’s being used and appreciated in its new home.
