Why aren’t arcades big anymore?

Are they not profitable

Just seems like a cool place to hangout. The cool lights and colors and noises

It will be a wonderful idea to bring arcades back!
I think the main reason might be that people can play games at home or whatever. But we can do lots of things like watching movies or eating or drinking at home, too. But going out and doing these activities with friends is another experience.

@LookingForTheSummer I agree it’s basically the same reason why people don’t buy DVDs anymore Netflix and streaming killed DVDs

It makes sense. It’s a gradual thing

I think for going out and hanging out it would be wonderful to bring it back

My friends and I went out a few weekends ago to this club and they had a GameCube and they were playing Mario cart.

Why can’t we do that 😭😭😭😭😭

@DeluxedEdition In the 1980s, we didn't have video games that could even shine the shoes of the arcade ones. Now, of course, the games are killer and we don't have to burn 6 dollar gas to pay even more money to play. Operating a business is expensive--probably worse than it was 40 years ago--and I don't think people are coming back. Arcades were big in malls....remember those?

@LookingForTheSummer Another big blow to them was the rise of structured and monitored play for kids and helicopter fear based parenting.
