I would like to be able to walk down the street without having to interact with people i hardly know. They don’t even sound like they want to talk to me, so why force themselves? Americans are strange.
I usually just smile. Our neighbor stopped talking to us because she blames our dog for teaching her dog to bark at cars. 🤷🏻♀️ I thought that was a dog’s job - bark at cars.
for what ever reason you do not want to interact with strangers they are only being courteous . i am sure a hello or a exchange of pleasantries would not hurt [morbidcynic]
