What Accent?

I was having a conversation with someone not long ago and this man nearby was staring at me. I'm thinking um, can I help you? When I was finished with my convo he walks to me.
Where are you from? I'm from here, 🇺🇸 You were born here? Yes. Where are your parents from? They're 🇬🇩 and 🇯🇲. Ok, I heard a Caribbean accent. Haha.. me? An accent. I don't think so. Are you sure? Yeah the way you pronounce some of your words. I had friends from the West Indies. Thats how I know. Oh ok, I guess. That's very interesting that you picked up on that. I never really thought about it. Maybe I wouldn't have noticed if I didn't have friends from the Caribbean. 😊
