What Makes Steel-Cut Oatmeal So Special?

If it's so tough it has to be cut with steel why eat it? Asking for a friend.

Just advertising waffle. Grain has been milled with steel rollers for a very long time now. If anything, it's genuinely stone-ground oats and flour that have the sales cache.

There's no difference in husk hardness..It still has to be cut one way or another, then cooked to be edible.

Nothing really. A gimmick to sell it at a higher price. Cut oats cook faster.

@JimboSaturn I always get the minute kind. Tastes the same. Especially with a little prune juice.
