One of my coworkers said

He has a fear of tripping and falling and squashing an old lady. I laughed, but he was like "no I'm serious" 😮

Don’t feel bad. Until there’s a legit phobia in the books of tripping and squashing old ladies, it’s not out of line to laugh. Some things are just that irrational.

@Nebula I will say if he’s had a traumatizing experience where he did trip and fall on an old woman, then his fears are a lot more understandable. I’m not completely without empathy, lol
