“You don’t get to decide how people will react to the information they’re given.”
“You just need to give them the information, and let the responsibility of what to do with it be theirs.” My pastor said that during a message. Not directly to me, but as part of the message. So I’m thinking on that for now, because it applies to many things.
It really is something I’ve done for much of my life. One thing I do that can be good is to try and understand other people’s mindsets. The bad thing I do from there is determining, based off of what I know of their mindsets, what they will or will not receive well. And then gatekeeping information.
Which is ridiculous since I’d also insisted to others before that everyone has a right to be informed so that they can make their own decisions from there. But here I am, doing…very much not what I said was so important.
There’s always something to work on.
