U r probably your own worst critic. I used to be skinny when I was your age up until the age to about 20. Until 16 I did a lot of exercise but stopped after that as didn't realise the importance of exercise. I do a lot of exercise now but am still pretty big but I don't mind that now as the exercise I do such as swimming an playing football really gives me a rush an I feel better about the way I look as starting to see slow changes. I'd highly recommend a team sport not to change your shape although this may be an effect from this but to help you feel stronger in yourself an about yourself.
