I Have Self Esteem Issues

I still struggle with feelings of rejection, as a child i was rejected by my best friend. For two years we did everything together, one day out of the blue she looked at me and said your not good enough to be my friend. That statement haunts me to this day. I sometimes wonder if she realized how much her words hurt me and if she regrets how she never spoke to me again. I've never had a great self esteem. These issues have been carried into my current relationships. It's hard to fully accept that i am worthy of love.

Don’t let whatever was effecting her define you. I had a similar experience. I was poor and neglected and my so called bf told me I was awesome but If I didn’t start dressing better....
I was lucky to get to school in one piece most days.
Be who you are now :)

That sounds like a learned statement from your friend. She was told this, or was convinced of this by someone else.

Absolutely traumatic. A decision sprung from ignorance. "Et tu, Bruh?"

See, you aren't good enough to be her friend. You're better. You know why I know this? Because unlike her, you know that you don't do what she did to a friend, or anyone else, for that matter. That's inhuman. Last you checked, you were human, right? So you tried to be friends with a troglodyte and it didn't work out. I'm just curious why you are trying to prove her right, when you are better than her, just on your code of conduct...?

Unless, of course, you would do what she did to someone else. Then you aren't good enough to be a friend because you are a douchebag. Just like her.

You should know that by the evidence of my words

@Sassygirl42 then let the troglodyte go. The world is yours. Take it. 🤗

I know the feeling. It’s crazy how our minds can’t let go and move forward.

I agree... Some of those things kids said during childhood can still cause a deep sadness.

@SW-User thank you
I can already tell you're a good person. Good people shouldn't have self esteem issues.
Love yourself & love life, we only get to go around once.

Anyone that says things like that really aren't good enough to be friends with you.
Sassygirl42 · 51-55, F
@Virgo79 i know apparently she didn't want to be my friend

@Sassygirl42 i wonder sometimes why people say the things they say.
That's terribly abrasive.
Sassygirl42 · 51-55, F
@Virgo79 i wonder too

When your friend did point that finger to you, she forgot that three of her other fingers were pointing at her. 😉

@zefyr thanks

If you really look into that statement she made, who truly isn't the one good enough to be a friend? Don't let those words define you, I bet you offer so much more than you realise. Hardly any of us see the good things in ourselves.

@Bushmanoz thank you for your kindness. ❤

@Sassygirl42 Just an honest opinion, good people are rare and I am happy to try and help even if I don't always find the best words, some people can verbalise their thoughts so much better
Sassygirl42 · 51-55, F
@Bushmanoz i appreciate it very much
