What do you do when stupid losers refuse to pay you back your money

I decided that I was wasting my time with the last loser who promised to pay me back half of the $300 I itemized and spent on Christmas gifts for HIS family...telling me to just show him the receipts afterward and he would pay. He found the receipts and destroyed them and then refused to pay me. Of course, he was my ex-husband at the time, and I was trying to re-live the early days of our marriage.
THAT guy had died a long time before, and I just had to wake up and see it. And exit. Quickly.
