What's the secret behind your having confidence?

Picklebobble2 · 56-60, M
Waking up and realizing i was far better than those who constantly criticized me said i was.
When i thought about it, and all the stuff i was doing for those people, was obviously enough and they must have known i was better than they were saying because they had never asked me to stop.

That's quite a powerful realization.

Suddenly i had the confidence to do things for me as well as them.
And over time and with some independence i learned to cut those people from my life
@Picklebobble2 Inspiring! Thanks for sharing 👍

Believing, practicing, living in the truth. Honesty with myself and others.
@Mindful Can you talk a bit more about practicing and believing part 🙏

@SoulKey since the age of about 12, I decided to believe in the model and example of Jesus. The one main concept in Jesus’ talks was to believe and follow him. I know that many people hate religeon and don’t believe in God, so when I began reading the Bible, I meditated and asked, “God if you exist, I want you to show me the truth and help me accept and understand the words in the Bible as you meant for me to. And I opened my mind and heart with each story and Bible. I learned what the Bible meant… on my own. Somehow I learned to see my faults, and rather than deny them, I acknowledged them, and strove to improve myself according to advice in the New Testament.it took years, to develop a certain level of understand myself, but that I was valued (loved by God or whomever our creator is) meant I mattered. And clearly the Jesus tried to show everyone mattered. If you read the Bible for your self and ask the spirit of God for clarity, it comes. And then it makes sense. But most people read the Bible like some manual. There is a verse somewhere in the Bible that says whomever seeks the truth will find it. So finding it has to come from a true desire of wanting truth. I was told by a spiritual mentor that “Truth is truth no matter where you find it. Whether it’s good or bad.” A simple example is that when you see two apples, then there are two apples. That truth before your eyes is true. People who like to debate will find ways that those are not apples, they are objects. Even though that is a variation of apples, they are just purposely trying to force their way on you for a different purpose, using different words. It is important to discern what is and isn’t real , and if you are able to understand this, you will live life knowing that we argue about the same things… but some people argue for their pride, benefit or personal gain. When you ask God for the truth about a situation, he will provide it to you. Be ready because ignorance is bliss, and truth is for the brave… it’s an inner belief that the truth is what is the most essential, and that lying and greed is just a manipulation of things and people… that is all temporary. Everything around us will be gone in about 125 years. What kind of world do you want to live in is up to you. The Bible says that the kingdom of God is at hand. He is saying it is right here. In front of you. Right here. Not some future. We are the ones responsible for creating and understand and choosing the world we live in. We influence and care for (or don’t) for one another. We are the ones who write laws for citizens and society. If we follow the example that Buda or Jesus gives, we can make the world a better place and this does not exclude any truth that we find even in science. When seeking the truth you have to know that it is not something we imagine, it is something (actually everything) that exists, but it’s not just an object. It is spiritual, for lack of a better word, it is also invisible. There are many things we cannot see, but it is still true and real. We just haven’t found it. Always consider that everything could be true, and everything could be false, but as you search for truth, you will in time discover it. And when you do, align yourself with good intentions to better our community or bad intentions as a force against our community. Both forces are needed to move forward….like and movement requires two forces. I’m not sure that this is what you were asking. Because I was brought up in a loving family where I was supported with love, I accepted and have dedicated my self to living in a loving manner. It’s just a choice. I am lucky that I am and hope that I always will be able to seek truth. Because I know what is true, I am willing to take risks that other people would never do. I’m not trying to be great! Or brave, or anything. I want to be honest and truthful.
@Mindful Thank you, I appreciate your words of wisdom.
