If you have one foot in yesterday, one foot in tomorrow, it leaves you to get screwed today. Try the serenity prayer. Try only looking in your past to better yourself today, not morbid reflection. Everyone has regrets....

If you truly regret what you did, then that’s a good thing to be looked upon. Imagine if you never felt bad for doing such things? That would be worse. You don’t have to let it go, but keep the bad things as a learned lesson and be proud of yourself for being a different person now. Many people stay making the same mistakes until something terrible happens.

Change your present...

Most of us are ashamed of the past, but the past cannot be changed, the present can.

Forgive yourself, learn from it, and move forward?
DrWatson · 70-79, M
There is a lot about my past that is cringeworthy.
It helps me to have friends I can talk about it with, who also have pasts that they are not proud of. We can laugh at what idiots we were.
And, we focus on the present and future. Building a new track record of acting with integrity really helps the past to stay in the past and to seem like old history.

Well, thank God they didn't have Facebook or social media back when I was screwing up by the numbers...🤣🤣🤣. All I can say is stop thinking about YOURSELF so much. No one really cares WHAT you did, but if you keep advertising it people will start to wonder.
I mean, it's not like you're running for political office or anything...😉

I think you'll find the only person hanging on to 'regretable you' is you.

@Picklebobble2 leave the past there, in past... you can change today, dont worry about my tomorrow, we have no idea if it will be there... just concentrate on today, the next minute.... the next step
Kstrong · 56-60, F
Leave the past in the past, you cant change it, you live in today, its the only thing you can. We arent promised tomorrow, just live in today...
So does mine, but I don't dwell on it. It is what it is.

You can't change your past... you have control over only this moment. Live each moment well and the past will fade away.
