God won't give you anything you cannot handle. True or False?

totally true.

but not everything is given to you by God. Often, we grab ahold of too much all on our own.

Totally incorrect.

It is used as a supposed comfort in rough times, assuming whatever happened was given to you by God.

I don't know how anyone knows that it was given to the person by God.

I know in times of trouble, God may be what people need or want most.

So why would they go to the being that supposedly gave them the trouble?

Instead of being a comfort it may take a believer away from their only source of comfort.

True but it sure doesn’t feel that way

Not in the bible. I've buried my own infants. Handle that! GOD will be there with you ,but nothing about not giving you more than what you can handle

False. God left us as sheep amongst the wolves because he wants us to be strong and independent and follow his faith.
Being told this my entire adolescence fucked me up on so many levels. I still cringe when I hear people say that.

You're given things to handle all the time, it's up to the individual to handle them.

True, but a little misleading. While god could test us, he would never personally test us with anything evil. Most of what some branches of christianity considers god-given happens to be pure evil, because they're afraid of considering it in the first place.

For example, death or suffering is not anything that Jehovah would impose on anyone just to "test" them. When Job was tested it was stated that it was the devil that tested him. God allowed it to take place because he knew that Job could handle it, and if he did not respond to satan's challenge then his judgment would be questioned. I think it sounds grim on the surface, but if you look at the way we live today then really it was not much worse than most people endure. In fact, Job had been blessed all his life up until that point and was made incredibly rich, and likewise after the test. In the same way, god allows satan to test us in these trying times. Not to tear us down or make us suffer, but to strengthen us and show us the true path to life and prove that we're ready to take it. Yet, when the tests become too much for us to bear, he will remove them for us.
1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has come upon you except what is common to men. But God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear, but along with the temptation he will also make the way out so that you may be able to endure it.
