I thought of doing Brazilian jiu jitsu but it's taxing on your back even free of injuries and I got into a car accident last year. I just don't want to make it worse. It's not worth it for me. If you're doing traditional martial arts, then It's probably safe without causing more injuries and can even reveal some tension because of the movements but doing mixed martial arts like jiu jitsu is horrible on your back. It's actually not recommended to do if you have pre existing injuries.
@justicexoxoxo at 36 I started krav maga classes. Its rough but strangly satisfying too.

@Callmewhatyouwill Nice. I'm thinking of getting back into traditional martial arts but we'll see. It's hard to find the time to do it because I'm one of those all in or no in type of person. I don't like half stepping. I actually did martial arts as a kid and had a black belt in Tae Kwon Do but I was like 12, and quit. I'm sure if I did it again I'd have to start over regardless.
@justicexoxoxo probably... Yea finding the time is hard. Where I go they offer classes everyday except Sunday. But because of the schedule I'm lucky to make it to 1 a week.

@Callmewhatyouwill Right. I became black belt fast when I was a kid because I went practically every day. It was fun. I remember breaking 2 thick boards with my foot. I was able to do a bunch of stuff I can't even fathom doing now without the risk of messing my back up because even when it's feeling good. I'm just one wrong movement away from messing it up again.
