@CookieCrumbs twice in my career I was the guy who had to explain why something had to be shut down and then essentially fire those no longer needed. Whilst I can understand the facts and figures etc at the end of the process you're left as the one those dispensed with hating.

Oh I can relate. I was too young (23 at that time) and too early in my career when I was included in the management team that was tasked to determine who would be let go after a merger and acquisition. It was an emotional process to make a decision about other people’s livelihood.

@CookieCrumbs yep for me I could disassociate the emotion at one point but then it hits you as you're actually saying farewells.

In 2003 I took a department from 136 to 35 in 6 weeks after a merger and decision to cut back in our country.
