On the spot, typically not. But it is information I do process and hold up to other information I collect. And enough information over time, especially after I have verified its accuracy has changed my opinion.
As a matter of example, I identified as a Libertarian throughout college and during my first few years of work. I liked Ron Paul, I voted for Bob Barr as the Libertarian candidate for president in 2008. I did not think Healthcare should be treated as a right ( I'm still not cozy labeling it as such, but I do now support universal Healthcare).
Over the years as I gathered information and experience on capitalism and markets and humans rights I veered more to the political left. Especially on economics.
Information online had a part in that process, but it was a transition over time. Very seldom have I read an article or heard a speech and it just flipped a switch. Especially since I know I have to independently look into everything that gets said because most of the shit posted online are lies, misinformation, and propaganda. Even have to take the stuff that sounds good to me with a grain of salt because confirmation bias can really distort people's reality if not watched for.
