how do you keep your ego on moderation, daily?

And I mean in a healthy way, because I have seen how junk food, drugs or sleeping around, can keep it in tact..馃檴

Can you elaborate? I understand the ego part, but I鈥檓 a little confused about the question itself given the examples you used?

@WhateverWorks i am saying that if you are doing things that keep you, in one way or another, feeling like you're doing sth "bad" or unhealthy for your body or mind, then the ego is in tact because it feels its inadequacy. But when you try for a healthy lifestyle that keeps you accomplished and gives you strength, then the ego has bigger chances to grow.

@elafina That鈥檚 an interesting perspective . I would propose that for many people self-destructive/destructive behaviors can derive from inflated ego where ego has become so engorged that they feel impervious to the consequences of their actions. I鈥檝e also met many people who engage in seemingly healthy practices who are extremely egotistical lol

To answer your question, I find keeping an inquisitive rather than presumptive attitude helps. I like to look at everything over from three angles: The realistic negative, the realistic positive, and realistic neutral. this frequent perception checking helps me not get too wrapped up in myself.

@WhateverWorks that's super interesting too, wow, i got so many good answers from this question. I find it exciting in a way, not necessarily pleasant, how my whole body reacts to certain answers when it comes to "ego". Something is setting on fire. It's almost abstract, i can explain it but not precisely with words.

You're right about those who dive into destruction because they think they're invincible, now i can think of a few examples that i know. I think both, yours and my point are equally valid.
I like this 3 angle perception, it's quite a novelty to my thinking processes.

For sure. I wasn鈥檛 in disagreement with you about your point, only adding to it to resolve the false dichotomy.
