How Do You Get Motivated?

There was a time in my pursuits in education that I turned in my work on time, worked hard and applied myself. Now, I have failed so many times, missed classes, not turned in work, and for years I seem to have been drowning in depression. I am still now. I love the art - I love opera and music, all that I'm studying. The drive is gone until I go out and see an opera or watch one online, surrounded by the culture in motion instead of the emptiness and bleakness of the classroom.
On top of that is the family and past trauma that I have to take care of, but I feel so tired and slow and unmotivated. Is this normal?

You can recover! one day at a time! One step at a time. Meditate on positive blessings daily, take a walk daily and eat something healthy daily! Life can be good again. Antidepressants like prozac can help too, and you can get them at a minute clinic or general doctor. Go and talk about your trauma with a counselor too.🤗🌷

It seems you answered your own question, treat the depression and the motivation will return

@Tminus6453 Like medication and therapy again? If so, then it's how do I get myself to stick with it? Oftentimes pride and the want to do it on my own gets in the way, or when therapy begins to get to in-depth I run.

@InvictusIndigo Well it seems obvious not treating it is not the answer...find whatever works, swallow your pride, and treat it🤷‍♂️

I find it helps me to set small goals every day. Nothing huge, but doing things in small increments make the stress low.
