I Need Someone to Talk to

My feelings are mixed about this situation.
My friend got a call today at a job interview she did yesterday and advancing to the next round. She's a teacher and so round 2 means you do a lesson and the principal and assistant principal watch you teach the class for 1 period.
While I'm happy she's advancing, I don't want her to get the job. I don't wanna be selfish but there are a lot of unfinished business here at the old job that she has and a lot of the students depend on her. For her to leave them... It's just a disservice to them. And on top of that, I need her here too. She's been my guide as I enter teaching and without her I'm lost.
I always support her and she's my best friend but I Hate that I feel this way. I'm just not ready for her to leave me or any of our students just yet. I just feel like it isn't right.
I've been feeling this way since last week and crying all day and night. I fake a smile but I wish I could just tell her not to leave. Not yet.

well she may not get the job... but you know.. what you feel is perfectly natural.. we all think of how something someone does affects us.. we are only human.

@Adaydreambeliever I know, she may not. I wouldn't wanna wish that on her but at the same time, she's got it good at this sxhool. Our bosses are both very laid back and respect us. They aren't demanding like how other bosses are. The kids we deal with are really, really good kids. It's in a good neighborhood where parents are always invoked and willing to work wirh the teachers.
And the people she surrounds herself with (me and a handful of other teachers)... We all are close and look out for each other.
Her onky reason to go is that it's an hour's drive. But to go to a different school where you don't know how the boss will be (in an interview of course they'll be friendly. In real life, who knows!) and how demanding it'll be, how challenging the work will be compared to how laid back it is now is silly. I rather stay at a location where I know everyday my boss isn't breathing down my neck and dealing with the 1 hr, 1.5hr drive than to go to a location where I don't know anyone and I could possibly be miserable.

@MovieMusicGal I get that that is the right thing for you.. but I sense she wants to fly and have new adventures.. try new things..
