The Power of Self-Respect and Self-Love

Self-esteem is the foundation upon which our sense of worth and dignity is built. It is the belief in our own value and capabilities, regardless of external judgments or opinions. Central to maintaining a healthy self-esteem is refusing to allow others to belittle or demean us.

One of the key aspects of self-esteem is self-respect. It's essential to set boundaries and assert our worth, ensuring that others treat us with the respect and dignity we deserve. By refusing to tolerate disrespect or mistreatment, we uphold our self-esteem and demonstrate our value to ourselves and others.

Furthermore, self-love plays a crucial role in nurturing our self-esteem. By practicing kindness and compassion towards ourselves, we reaffirm our inherent worth and cultivate a deep sense of self-love. This self-love acts as a shield against external criticisms and negativity, empowering us to navigate life's challenges with confidence and grace.

Ultimately, self-esteem is about recognizing that we are worthy of love, respect, and happiness. No one has the power to diminish our worth or define our value except ourselves. By embracing our intrinsic worth and refusing to allow others to undermine it, we can cultivate a strong and resilient sense of self-esteem that serves as a guiding light in our lives.

I, myself, prefer to keep myself open enough in heart that those I love to affect me. We do not live in a bubble, we are not sages writing texts with autocorrect, we are fallible, and too much self-love can lose sight of another's feelings.
