How do you get that feeling of excitement back into a relationship if you guys are now comfortable with each other? If the relationship is out of the honeymoon stage?

Try some things that you wouldn't normally do. A date night or two is a good idea. Maybe you could try new physical activities.... not necessarily sexual lol! Although if you are comfortable enough to share kinks with each other you might find something you would both like to try.
