Would you fly half way around the world to be with your friend and their family?

I have two friends - the wife and husband of a family I met not a year ago. I work with the husband, and we are really close. I have many health problems, and so does his wife so he knows how to watch out for me. They both have gotten me through some dark depressive episodes, and I really enjoy spending time with them. The wife told me she thought of me as part of her family. They have gone overseas, and invited me to come visit them. I want to go, and there is nothing holding me here. Should I? I have a feeling they aren't coming home as they have recently been disillusioned with the community they thought were their friends. I wouldn't mind living overseas

@ladycae - in fact I moved in with them about 4 months before they left. They had a spare bedroom, my lease was up and it just worked out that way. I spent most of my time over there for work and socialising anyway.

I work remotely, so I would not need a work visa, just a holiday visa :)
