Who would you rather be your president: Putin or Trump?

Both are undesirable, both crazy, but at least Putin has experience and isn't nearly as batshit crazy (still crazy though) as Trump. Putin to me would be the equivalent of having... IDK... I can't think of a Republican candidate I don't hate so much that I'd rather them than Putin. So uh. Bill Clinton I suppose. Still though, if Bernie doesn't win, I'm doing my schooling in Russia (might as well, for the foreign language) and then moving to Denmark/Sweden/Switzerland. x'D

Putin is crazy? Based on what? Personally I think he is far more mature and a more responsible and loyal leader the 99% of all western leaders and the narcissist looking to take over from them. Sanders is the only one running in the US who would not be a complete disaster.

When I say Putin is crazy, I mean in the sense that he's rather violent. His ideas are otherwise sensible, except when it comes to the fact he's anti LGBT. And yes, I'm feeling the Bern so hard.

Violent? No real evidence of that. And what is it with people blaming an entire nation and it's government on him being some cartoon evil person? Do you even know the story behind that "anti LGBT" claim? Are you referring to the so called anti gay propaganda law that was passed? Because 99% of what you hear about that was actually sourced from a Canadian travel blog and is wrong. Interestingly enough the UK had a nearly identical law till about 2008 but nobody calls the Brits anti LGBT. Or in the US if you are in some states you can kill a gay person and almost be certain to get away with it if you claim "gay panic" defense as demonstrated by the Mathew Shepard case. People in glass houses and all that...

I blame American censorship of information.

That is part of the problem. Control of the narrative. But it is also about demonizing a nation that chooses to be independent and does not kneel before the POTUS. If all those pompous windbags in Washington, Brussels or Ottawa really cared they would get their own house in order first instead of doing one thing and criticizing others like the hypocrites they are. The problem is most people in the west just assume that "bad things don't happen here" so they assume they have the moral high ground. Also the Orthodox Church has massive amounts of power in Russia and makes some of the US southern right wing look liberal. Russia also practices some forms of direct democracy which allows them to wield vast amounts of influence in government. For example in Russia if petitions are submitted that fit certain criteria are submitted to the government on a proposed new piece of legislation the Duma is required by law to present the bill. So powerful groups can literally introduce laws directly into the legislature. So all of this to say it is all much more complicated then "west good. Putin bad."
