I live in a rural area next to the Southern Drakensberg mountains in S.Africa and there are very few lights nearby at night so on a clear night the stars are quite spectacular. You need to get far from the city lights somewhere.

I've been to South Africa :3 Mmm... maybe if I planned a trip to the middle of the Sahara...

There is an area in S.Africa called the Karoo. It is very flat with wide open plains and on a clear night you will see stars from one horizon to the other. There are night time tours there for that very reason.

I read that as "night time torus" and was rather confused for a second. xD

wraithorn
lol. Your eyes deceive you.

I went to S.A. when I was 8 or 9... I do wish I was old enough then to have done this...

wraithorn
Well the stars will be there long after you have gone. There is no rush. Just take the opportunity to get away from city lights on a clear night with no moon and you will see stars from anywhere on the planet.
TetrisGuy · 26-30, M
Well, yeah, obviously. But I will be gone in a flash with respect to the stars. I want to make the most of my time here... space <3 Well duh, I see stars here. But I want to see the sky glitter...

wraithorn
Why don't you ask your parents to give you a birthday or Christmas gift of a trip to a place when you can see the stars nice and clearly ? It will be something to remember.
TetrisGuy · 26-30, M
They would, but my dad's in a foreign country and my mom's not one to drive out. Money's not an issue with us. It's just that my family's rather dysfunctional, especially now.

wraithorn
Sheesh...well...you'll have to use that mathematical mind of yours to work things out and make a plan.

I do hope I can observe space eventually...
