Just a PSA, I hope you know that chocolate and anything chocolate flavored is fatal to dogs.

Spawned from that oreo question. I don't think the owner did it intentionally, and to some it's not immediately obvious, but some forget the fact that if it's chocolate flavored, it contains cacao compounds, which will contain the theobromine that's fatal to many pets. Dogs can't metabolize theobromine, nor can cats. The problem is that unless you get specific "dog-safe chocolate" (which they destroy the compound theobromine in), you can't feed them anything chocolate flavored, unless you want them to die. This applies to cats, too. But cats can't taste sweet things, so it's much harder for them to get chocolate poisoning. Dogs love sweet flavors, but they don't know if something's bad for them or not. So please, don't feed your pets chocolate or anything chocolate flavored. You're just putting them on death row. It doesn't immediately kill them, but it will drastically, and I mean drastically shorten their life span.

not such a bit deal for large dogs...
.......
but White chocolate is totally fine....
milk chocolate they might need 2-3 bars
dark chocolate a few pieces might so some dogs....
.........
it varies a lot by the breeds, and stuff
some feed onions, garlic, chocolate, grapes to dogs...
..........
and some have had scary or unhappy results with those....
like it's the grape seeds that make the dog ill...
...........
they can tolerate salmonella and staph and e-coli, but a few grapes, not so good.

I can imagine some frogs being like "those humans can eat chocolate, and whatever chemical shit they put in their foods... but a microgram of ricin and they're dead hahaha"
atenra11
Well ricin is plenty deadly...
....
But some animals are surprising, like squirrels when hungry will eat some mushrooms like even the death cap amantia, and well, they don't suffer from it, their liver can metabolize it.
Im not sure if they feel nauseous or hallucinate but they'll touch some of those things if starving...
....
so can frogs tolerate ricin?
i guess they eat a lot of bad castor beans huh

Some species of poisonous frogs will eat stuff that would be lethal to any mammalian species or any species that eats them in general. They then secrete the toxin and use it as a secondary line of defense after their bright color.
