If all the world's a stage, where does the audience sit?

Philosophically one could argue that the audience could be considered God. Or the NSA or former KGB, I guess. But remember, more than anyone else, the audience pays attention to the people that are actually doing things, not the ones that are supposed to be trees and stand around doing nothing but wave their branch-arms about aimlessly. Also, your acting can be bad, and you should feel bad for that. Get your act together and actually do something if you want to be remembered for your greatness :P

I would argue the universe is the stage and life itself is the main cast. Our individual stories do matter, but all life is equal in the eyes of the universe. The audience doesn't matter, the ratings don't matter, the closing of the theater doesn't matter; what matters is we put on the best damn show we possible can.
