Did you realize that John Lennon's song Imagine is actually a song about The Communist Manifesto?

He said so himself. So the song is literally about asking to join the communist revolution. He himself "isn't exactly a commie" but the song is about it. Funny how so many people love the song and its message, and then go on to bash communism, not realizing Soviet communism is hardly communism, and most modern commies are either Marxist or Marxist-Leninist. I'm very Marxist, although I do share some Leninist ideas. But the song is definitely pure Marxist and now it's my favorite Beatles song, as it's a peaceful call to the communist revolution :D I suppose you could call it... Lennonism. :P Someone was going to make the joke.

Lenin I can agree with was the greatest dictator who ever lived. He is definitely commendable. But as far as communism goes, I love Marx's ideas more. I do think some government is necessary as a means to facilitate and manage redistribution of goods and such, and to manage laws and stuff. So it is essentially a more authoritarian flavor of Marxism. So I say I'm a Marxist who agrees a bit with Lenin, but I am not fully Marxist-Leninist. I'm more Marxist.
