I used to make a lot of stuff, mostly sew clothing, pillows, curtains, stuffed toys, doll clothes, etc. Haven't done much in the past 10 years because it's cheaper to buy that stuff (except maybe crafted pillows) and there isn't as many choices for fabrics like before. I also did a lot of crocheting and embroidery and other crafts. I think well-made hand-crafted items are preferable especially unique items. Always liked to customize an article of clothing after cutting it from a pattern. Have never really cared about status brand names, but do prefer certain brands in items like jeans.

Jeans make sense. Certain brand-name jeans really do fit better than generic ones. But I mean, I know it's more expensive, but you can get it exactly how you want it to. I also like buying handmade things from other people, because I don't want everything I have to be in my own style, and I support artists. I mean, they shouldn't be making their living solely off of that, but as a hobby, I thoroughly support it :3

If I had more money I would decorate the entire house with hand-made items, from local art fairs and crafter's fairs or whatever locally-made stuff. There are some talented artists here.
