coloco
We have always had them, we will always keep them. It is part of our constitution. When I was a kid, I would find a note on the table, get 3 rabbits for dinner. I would grab the rifle and go get 3 rabbits. It was not a big deal, even stopped by the sheriff once, all he wanted to know was where in the area was a good place to hunt. I have no idea what has happened since, if my kids screwed up with a gun they got there ass blistered, it is not something you can tolorate, seems people have lost the guts to even stand up to their own kids.
But, were I live, the gun is self protection when the minimum time to get the police into our area is 35 minutes, it is a means to protect our animals from coyotes, hawks, eagles and loose dogs. Try taking my gun, you might as well kill me now, someone else will do it later. My dad is 80, a van pulled up off the road a half mile to the house with the lights off. After three hellos, he put a load of shot into the side of the van. It left, wonder what would have happened had he not done that.
No, I'll keep my guns....
