Yes me and my boyfriend were talking about it once he read the news. Of course it is a murder. And really US should stop playing that "play cowboy" game nowadays. Its just stupid to seriously stupid to have it that everyone can have guns/firearms. Whether it is by accident or not people really should stop with the guns.

The garage owner fired 3 shots. It wasn't an accident it was deliberate.

You want to rewrite the constitution or something?
Mikemcneil · 61-69, M
I don't understand what you mean. Care to explain ?
Summ3rRain
Maybe the first shot was accident but the later two were deliberate. He's making sure the "life threatening" situation was just eliminated.
louisthepearl
Are you referring to my answer or Summ3rRain's?
Mikemcneil · 61-69, M
Your answer. Can you explain your reply?
louisthepearl
The second amendment reads as following : A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
If you say, "you can't have a gun because I don't agree with it" you're basically rewriting the constitution.

So much for the land of freedom.....
Mikemcneil · 61-69, M
I didn't say he shouldn't have a gun. I don't think this a case of self defense based on the facts.
louisthepearl
I'm not saying you did but Summ3rRain did. And yes, land of freedom, that is until you start taking people's rights away aka their guns. No one is saying gun related deaths don't exist, but so do knife related deaths. And car accidents, and god knows what else. I don't see anyone screaming to have cars removed from the streets. Maybe that's a tired argument but it's true. I'm not crazy about guns but if someone wants to own one it's none of my business and I'm in no position to tell them they aren't allowed to do so.
Mikemcneil · 61-69, M
I don't have a problem with responsible gun ownership.
Summ3rRain
But even so you wouldn't really much like it if they would point the gun in you? That is why this kind of crazy laws here and there in the US really needs more consideration. Either ban all or nothing. Nothing would mean all would go crazy, all means some people will be against it and some wouldn't even care.
louisthepearl
Again, I'm not saying you do.
louisthepearl
I don't see why I'd be in a position to have a gun pointed at me. If you do believe that the guns should be banned, which is your right, you'd be going against the constitution and against individual rights. There's a word for that : oppression.
Summ3rRain
And thank god I don't live in such a crazy country with crazy rules and laws.
louisthepearl
It's actually a rather wonderful country but not to everyone's taste.

This has never been the land of the free. Conservatives want the right to bare arms but want to take away basic rights to control your own body or have access to marry.

Gun related deaths count for more than half. More people die due to gun shot wounds than knife wounds, car accidents and beatings put together. To compare them simply means you are uninformed or ran out of reasons.
