Hair 101. Hair grows in cycles. Your scalp grows hair one cell at a time. When the next one developes... the other one dies. You hair is a bunch of dead cells clinging to each other by protein bonds. As it grows the strand becomes longer... until a genetic trait tells your scalp to stop growing your hair strand. Thus it goes dormant and stays that way. All that time, your scalp is growing a NEW hair, which pushes out the old one... shedding. NOW? How do you make hair grow faster? The hair needs to be in the scalp longer to grow longer. Anything good for your scalp will hold the hair in longer... so, go to a beauty supply and ask for anything that can help your scalp. The next is blood. Blood is the key to hair growth. Why? Because the more blood that gets to your scalp, the more nutrients are around to make more cells... to create more hair. Massaging the scalp actually increases hair growth, for it allows more blood to reach it. Exercise and healthy foods bring nutrients through the blood to your scalp to create more hair cells. Once you gain hair, remember that they are dead cells. They are not alive... which means anything out of your scalp is dead and can break... so, a good conditioner that has protein and oils will go along way. Hair is scaly. IF the scales open up, oils, moisture and protein are exposed and hair gets dry... and breaks... split ends! Best to wash in the sink with mild shampoo and use good conditioner... why? For the temperature is more regulated to something luke warm... like in a salon. It's good for hair... so, no more hot steamy showers when washing hair. Blood and nutrients grow hair. Anything to make more of that increases hair growth. And breakage...anything to keep the cells bound together so the strands don't break. That is what you are looking for.
