Is the United States of America still a republic?

THEBIGM
Jeffersonian Democracy... a true republic pays honor to the peoples wishes. It is still possible to win the popular vote and lose the election in many places in this country... damn sad state of affairs

Very much so, much like Ancient Rome, and in a similar state like that of the late republic.

The United States was originally formed as a democratic republic, but we have a corporate oligarchy now.
