Is mutual respect from Atheists and believers in religion too much to ask for?
A little bit of mutual respect for the feelings of one-another? Is it really too much to ask?

And why would I do that? They've been particularly rude by trying to force their ideals upon me, it is within my rights to be offended and tell them my opinion..

It depends on you're perspective, if at first someone accepts the others view, but has different ones.. And keeps them quiet, only to have the other try to force their opinions on you.. Is it not natural to argue what you believe when it comes under threat?

Argue, yes. But that is not what you said. Or maybe I have misunderstood you? Have you not implied that you would show no respect towards other people's beliefs if they try to force them on you?

I would respect them, yes, but I would state my own opinions, so that they know that I am not interested in joining their religion
