I see where you are coming from, but I would say there is another factor; other lonely people might not be able to supply the "correct" (in lack of a better word) type of social interaction I need when I feel lonely. The times that I feel lonely, it won't help me one bit just to talk about the weather for instance.

But yes, other than my significant other, I feel there is a void of people in my life with a mutually understanding and interesting mindset.

Nah, I'm not really. It's now been quite a number of days since I was social in person (although I'm back at work tomorrow and also seeing friends). I don't really have needs like that which drive my behaviour. I don't know if that makes me lucky or unlucky.
