Spring or early summer. Rain comes. Frogs sing to attract a mate. Male frog gets onto the female's back and holds on. This is one reason why male frogs tend to be smaller than females. Then she lays eggs in a long string...looks like black beads usually. I'm not sure whether he fertilizes the eggs before or while they are being laid. Anyway, the eggs are laid in water. After a while, tadpoles hatch out.
At least that's the way it happened every year in my parents' goldfish pond.
