Will the stray cat I've taken in instinctively know how to use a litter box, or do I have to train her?

She's only about 8 months old and actually a little "wild" too. She's used to eating insects, mice and anything else she can catch. I've allready started her on kitten food and she loves it. My old cat passed away a couple of months ago so I've decided to take this one in. Never had a "wild" cat before. I can use all the advise I can get.

Spend as much time handling her as you can. That way she Imprints with humans. We have a tortie that we hand fed as a kitten and by handling her she learned she was "part of the nest". The best cat we have ever rescued. Well at least the one with the most personality. Our other 2 rescues have their own specialties. I too , love happy endings ...enjoy your new friend

She surprisingly took to me right away. She jumped on my lap while I was sitting in my easy chair and at the computer and she was very comfortable. The only problem is she likes to "kneed" (not sure how to describe it) her front paws into me while she gets comfortable and with her paws come her claws digging into my legs. I'll get her declawed and spade as soon as I can. Needless to say that is very painfull to me.... lol....

The kneading means that she has adopted you! As her surrogate mom and ouch yes the little claws are just like needles
