Any program that requires 8 hours of training will not help you with something as complicated as becoming a police officer later on. I think the best you can hope for is some real world pseudo-experience which will tell you if you actually want to be a cop or not. You have to remember that cops have way more power, ways to exercise that power, and responsibility than a security guard ever will.

Yes, I know and it's what I meant. I'm sorry if that wasn't clear. Pointing out the 8 hour training was to highlight how little will truly be gained from the training. I maybe should have said "a profession that requires only 8 hours of training." All the same, if you think you'll enjoy it, do it. That's all that matters.
