So it's official. Pink Floyd is done, for good, as of August 15th. Does anyone else feel a little sad about this?

I suppose a lot of people would say that they've been over for a long time now, but the finality of it is a little sad. I understand that they feel that the band has run its course and can never again be what it once was, and this may be true. I wish I could have gone to one of their concerts, but I never had the opportunity. Oh well. At least we still have lots of great music that we can listen to. I have some of their CDs, but I may want to buy a few more.

I'm not really sure. I'll have to read a little more about it to get the full story. I do know that Roger Waters and David Gilmour never got along very well, and Richard Wright died in 2008. So the band had been falling apart for some time. But I'm not sure what the final straw was that broke the camel's back. I guess David Gilmour said, in an interview with Classic Rock Magazine, that the band had run its course and that it would be "fakery" to try to do it again. That's not really much of an explanation, but apparently that's what he said.
