i know it is. just sometimes its harder than normal to talk good in front of them.

You should talk to him first because although friends and family are supportive it's between you and him.

true. but not when he lies to you, and gas lights you. can't have an honest conversation with a cunning, manipulator

I say ditch the loser. Stay civil and communicate but nobody who lies to you is worth your time.
